Join leading experts Paolo Tarantino, MD, PhD, Kirollos Hanna, PharmD, and Jamie Carroll, APRN, CNP, MSN for this accredited virtual webinar.
The treatment paradigm for metastatic triple-negative (mTNBC) and HR+/HER2- breast cancer is advancing rapidly with the frontline introduction and broader adoption of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). To bridge critical real-world gaps in guideline adoption, sequencing, and safety, this accredited, interactive CME masterclass delivers practical, evidence-based guidance to help multidisciplinary oncology teams optimize patient outcomes. Led by expert oncology faculty, the 60-minute live-virtual event will break down recent NCCN guideline updates, simulate clinical decision-making across complex tumor board case journeys, and address real-world challenges through an interactive panel and live Q&A.
Clinicians will gain actionable strategies to incorporate biomarker-driven frontline ADC regimens, navigate payload-specific cross-resistance across successive lines of therapy, implement proactive adverse event protocols to preserve dose intensity, and embed patient-centered decision-making into daily clinical workflows.
Session Highlights
- Apply Biomarker-Driven Frontline Strategies: Integrate the latest NCCN guidelines and pivotal trial data into first-line treatment algorithms for mTNBC, utilizing PD-L1 expression and germline testing to select between ADC monotherapy, combination chemo-immunotherapy, or targeted regimens.
- Evaluate Mechanisms to Guide ADC Sequencing: Assess critical structural differentiators—such as drug-to-antibody ratios (DAR), linker stability, and payload classes—to mitigate topoisomerase I inhibitor cross-resistance and optimize sequential therapy across mTNBC and HR+/HER2- disease.
- Formulate Proactive, Multidisciplinary Safety Protocols: Establish protocol-driven mitigation and management strategies for payload-specific toxicities (including neutropenia, severe diarrhea, stomatitis, and interstitial lung disease) to prevent premature treatment discontinuation and maintain therapeutic dose intensity.
- Utilize Practical Point-of-Care Clinical Tools: Navigate complex clinical scenarios using downloadable, algorithm-based decision trees and multi-tiered toxicity mitigation guides designed for immediate translation into oncology practice.
- Implement Patient-Centered Shared Decision-Making: Apply health literacy frameworks and communication strategies to align complex therapeutic sequencing, anticipated side-effect profiles, and supportive care needs with individual patient values and preferences.

Faculty
Paolo Tarantino, MD, PhD, is a breast medical oncologist and advanced fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Dr. Tarantino’s research focuses on antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), with particular interest in biomarker development and strategies to optimize ADC use across solid tumors. He has authored more than 130 scientific publications and is actively involved in multiple clinical and translational studies investigating ADC-based treatment approaches. He is a Visiting Professor at McGill University, and his work has been recognized with several international awards, including the Marco Venturini Award, the Yvonne Award and the 40 under 40 in Cancer Award.
Jamie Carroll, APRN, CNP, MSN is a nurse practitioner with a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner certification, currently working for Mayo Clinic in Breast Cancer since July 2015. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, graduating in 2012. Her clinical interests are in quality improvement within the breast cancer teams, ensuring under-represented individuals have access to quality health care, promoting equity and an inclusive and supportive environment for all patients. She is involved in the RAINBOWS clinic at Mayo which is an affirming clinic for LGBTQ+ patients with breast cancer. Jamie also strives to improve survivorship for breast cancer patients. Jamie enjoys education of students, nurses and fellow colleagues across the nation. She has earned the status of Assistant Professor through Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Dr. Kirollos Hanna, PharmD, BCOP, BCPS, is the Director of Pharmacy at Minnesota Oncology and an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Board-certified in oncology pharmacy and pharmacotherapy, he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University, followed by a general residency at St. Thomas Hospital and a specialized oncology residency at St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute. His research interests center on B-cell malignancies and genitourinary cancers. A recognized Fellow of both the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) and the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology/Oncology (APSHO), Dr. Hanna serves on the Board of Directors for the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA) and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO).
