With Advocacy from Prevent Blindness

Brenda Nickum had presbyopia-correcting intra-ocular lenses (IOLs) when she had cataract surgery in April 2011. Her surgeon created a “blended vision” (monovision) profile—one eye optimized for distance, the other for near work. Several months later, posterior-capsule haze developed and she underwent laser capsulotomies on both eyes (November 2011).
