Faculty

Edward B. Garon, MD, MS is a Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a leading oncologist specializing in Thoracic Medical Oncology. He completed his medical degree at the Washington University School of Medicine, internal medicine training at the University of Chicago, and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at UCLA, where he also earned a master's degree in clinical investigation. Dr Garon's extensive clinical and translational research centers on the testing and development of targeted therapies and immunotherapies for non-small cell lung cancer, a dedication that has led to several FDA approvals for breakthrough drugs and companion diagnostic tests. Highly recognized for his clinical excellence and compassionate patient care, he has received the Diana Gordon Jonnson Award for Clinical Excellence and is consistently named among Southern California's Super Doctors.

Joshua Sabari, MD is a Thoracic Oncologist at the Perlmutter Cancer Center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, completed his internal medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and underwent specialized fellowship training in medical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Sabari’s extensive clinical research focuses on advancing targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and combination treatments for lung cancer, with a particular expertise in developing novel therapeutic strategies for patients with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations and HER2-mutated non-small cell lung cancer. An active investigator whose work is frequently featured at major global conferences like ASCO and ESMO, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology and The Lancet Oncology.

Ann Fish-Steagall, RN, BSN received her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Bachelor of Social Work from Mars Hill College (University) in Mars Hill, NC. Prior to joining LUNGevity, Ann served as a research nurse and thoracic nurse navigator at the University of North Carolina. She is attuned to patients' needs; as the former director of clinical operations at Biologics by McKesson, Ann directed and implemented significant patient management programs. The passion of Ann's life has been to improve the lives of patients, and she continues this work as Senior Vice President of Patient Services at the LUNGevity Foundation.
